Our Jutte is a 14.5 inch defensive tool used (hopefully) to remove a sword from an opponent's hands) and the below pictured Tessen (war fan) is an exact copy of old original Japanese Samurai fighting tools.  They are each made of solid Steel and will last a lifetime.  Both (like our Tsuba) are covered with a rust preventative coating of black oxide that will eliminate rusting.

Naginata set

                                                                                                                                      Polished and ready for mounting.

The original nine piece set (above) was constructed with a layer of heavy silver foil over copper and is still mounted on its original full length pole.  The yardstick is there to help provide the exact location of each of the parts.

Outside of the black steel odd shaped part at the bottom of the pole, all nine pieces of the set are made of solid bronze and are available with either a semi-polished or jet black patina.   If you have a Naginata blade or plan to purchase one, there are several local craftsmen capable of carving a pole for you and mounting the parts as well.  Decorative MON are also available and can easily be added to the pole. Because it is often missing from original poles, the end piece (right end of photo) is available and can be purchased as a separate item for only $65 plus postage.
